Life, the Universe, and Everything 42 in Provo, Utah, February 15th

 

On February 15th, I will be attending Life, the Universe, and Everything: The Marion K. “Doc” Smith Symposium on Science Fiction and Fantasy, which will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Provo, Utah. I will be participating in three panels/presentations:

Live in the Sun—Music that does a soul good.

For the first iteration of “Come See What I Hear,” an evening of live music and visual art, Kira Gatiuan wrote a handful of beautiful songs that she and a group of friends performed.  Those songs are now available to hear online. I hope you’ll give them a listen.

I haven’t had a chance to see the Femme Fatale show in person at Urban Arts Gallery in Salt Lake City, but a friend did and sent these photos.

A few years back, I left my career in art and teaching to work as a dean and later as a principal in public education. While in those roles, I gave my best, focusing on my responsibilities in leadership, but I knew I had set aside my artistic ambitions for a while.
